P,

That version of Coltrane's "My Favorite Things" is one of the best things I've ever seen at a show. No kidding.

Mark, Great site. I love the top shows list. I'm looking forward to seeing Black Mountain here in Asheville. Where's the love for NC's Avett Brothers? Black Lips are all wild energy. I'll stay tuned. Thanks.

Fetal,

I'm completely obsessed with the Black Lips right now. Glad to see them in yr list of top shows. In an era of orchestral Arcade Fires and twee Tegan and Saras, it's great to hear a band just ripping it up.

Good luck with yr blog. I'll keep checking it out. Black Mtn, Dead Meadow and Built To Spill this month in Asheville. Come visit!

yr pal, Jim Schmidt (chris' brother)

What about Ryan Adams and the Cardinals at the Riverside Cultural Center?

Tom,

I really wanted to go to the Ryan Adams show, but it sold out within minutes and tickets were going for $250. I did, however, get a recording of the show, and it sounds like a very good show.
